Job summary

Concentra in Troy, MI is seeking a Physical Therapy Support Specialist to assist the Center Therapy Director and therapists by handling referrals, scheduling, patient registration and checkout, and maintaining clean, organized therapy spaces.

The role also covers clerical duties, inventory management, HIPAA compliance, and back-office tasks as needed, ensuring every patient receives timely, quality care in a friendly, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of referral management experience required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of state occupational medicine requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain timely authorizations from clients and/or insurance carriers for therapy treatments.
• Maintain referral records and statuses in the electronic system.
• Process referrals according to state guidelines and client direction.
• Coordinate with clinicians to ensure visits stay within authorized limits.
• Contact patients about missed appointments and reschedule as needed.
• Perform front and back office clerical tasks and ensure accurate documentation.
• Manage daily therapy supply inventory and maintain treatment areas.
• Assist with patient flow and provide timely wait-time information.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and handle confidential information securely.
