Job summary

Hoyleton Youth & Family Services seeks a Residential Youth Care Worker to deliver structured daily therapeutic programming under supervision. You will engage youth in meaningful interactions, document interventions, and support safe, caring environments using CARE and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.

The role requires resilience, compassion, and ability to respond to crises while fostering developmental growth and positive relationships with youth and staff.

Qualifications

• Basic first aid and medical needs recognition.
• Ability to learn CARE practice model and implement daily programming.
• Ability to learn TCI curriculum and pass tests with fidelity.
• Complete CARE training and annual TCI recertification.
• Stay awake and alert for scheduled shifts to ensure client safety.
• Engage youth with empathy and build positive relationships.
• Meet DCFS/CANTS clearance requirements.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Possess IL driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to cottage residents to develop cooking and cleaning skills.
• Maintain accurate records per agency policies and state requirements.
• Engage youth in daily therapeutic activities to build social and life skills.
• Ensure safety and well-being of youth, colleagues, and self.
• Build positive relationships with youth, colleagues, and supervisors.
• Document Medicaid-compliant therapeutic interventions daily.
• Plan activity schedules with supervisor and youth.
• Participate in supervision and agency meetings as required.
• Conduct bed checks during overnight shifts and engage youth as needed.
