Job summary

Hoyleton Youth & Family Services seeks a Youth Care Worker- Residential Cook to prepare meals for cottages and support staff in supervising residents. The role includes delivering structured therapeutic programming under supervision, engaging youth in activities, and documenting interactions per Medicaid Rule 140.

The position emphasizes CARE and TCI frameworks, trauma-informed care, and building strong developmental relationships while maintaining a safe, supportive environment for youth.

Qualifications

• Possess or obtain within 90 days a Food Service Sanitation Certification through the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).
• Basic skills in first aid and identification of medical needs.
• Ability to learn the CARE practice model and implement daily programming.
• Ability to learn the TCI curriculum and pass training and tests, with annual refreshers.

Responsibilities

• Prepares nutritious meals and snacks according to menus and health standards.
• Plans and orders food and supplies for meals, including holiday menus.
• Provide direction and oversight to cottage residents to develop cooking and cleaning skills.
• Maintain accurate records per agency policies and state requirements.
• Engage youth in daily therapeutic activities to develop life and social skills.
