Kids Thrive provides outpatient treatment programs for children ages 3-12 experiencing significant mental health symptoms. The program focuses on helping children develop essential skills like following directions, taking turns, and asking for help, preparing them for success in school and social settings. Utilizing the Developmental Repair Model, Kids Thrive supports children in enhancing group participation and shared attention while addressing individual goals set by families. Family involvement is integral, with therapy sessions and parent coaching designed to equip caregivers with techniques to manage children's behaviors effectively. The combination of tailored care and family support aims to create positive and lasting changes for children and their families.

Role Description

The Therapeutic Technician role is a full-time, on-site position located in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area. Responsibilities include supporting therapeutic activities for children, implementing individualized plans under the guidance of licensed providers, and fostering a structured and nurturing environment. Day-to-day tasks involve assisting children with group activities, helping them build critical life skills, and participating in family therapy sessions alongside licensed professionals. Collaboration with caregivers and other team members is essential to ensure the successful implementation of treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in implementing therapeutic or behavioral interventions and working with children demonstrating challenging behaviors
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and team members
• Ability to provide support in structured environments and follow planned routines
• Knowledge or experience with developmental repair models or similar therapeutic methodologies is a plus
• Flexibility and adaptability in handling dynamic and diverse situations
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field is preferred
• First aid and CPR certification is a bonus but not required
