Job summary

State of Ohio – Ohio Veterans Homes in Sandusky seeks a Therapeutic Program Worker to provide direct care to ветераans and support daily living activities. The role includes assisting with eating, personal care, mobility, and documentation, while collaborating with nursing staff to ensure safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

Formal education in arithmetic and English vocabulary as described in the posting.
High School Diploma or GED required; STNA certification may be required for some positions.
Must possess valid driver's license if vehicle operation is required.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with eating, bathing, toileting, hygiene, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
Transport residents and participate in activities or programs with them.
Complete daily, monthly, and other required documentation.
Observe and report changes in symptoms, behaviors, accidents, or injuries to the charge nurse.
Perform light housekeeping in living areas and apply safety and infection control measures.
Assist with redirecting unsafe actions to achieve positive outcomes.
Support nursing staff with admission, discharge and transfer of residents.
