Job summary
Ohio Department of Veterans Services’ Veterans Homes in Sandusky seeks a Therapeutic Program Worker to assist residents with activities of daily living and support nursing staff in daily operations.
You will provide direct care, help with mobility and personal functions, and participate in documentation and safety protocols to ensure high-quality care for Ohio's veterans in a long-term care setting.
Qualifications
- Formal education in arithmetic including addition and subtraction and in reading, writing and speaking common English vocabulary.
- In Department of Developmental Disabilities, must also possess a high school diploma or an equivalent.
- For Veteran Services positions, STNA certification and/or listed on Ohio Nurse Aide Registry are required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with eating, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene, oral hygiene, dressing and grooming.
- Transport and accompany residents to activities.
- Complete daily, monthly and other required documentation.
- Observe and report changes in symptoms, behaviors, accidents or injuries to charge nurse.
