Job summary

The Monarch School and Institute provides innovative therapeutic education for individuals with neurological differences such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, Tourette syndrome, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, traumatic brain injury, and seizure disorders. Our learner-centered approach helps students progress in four core goal areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in special education or education (preferred).
• Teaching certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements The Monarch School model of teaching with emphasis on development of self-regulation, executive functioning, relational skills and academic competence.
• Collaborates in development and implementation of student/adult learner treatment plans.
• Learns curriculum models such as DIR®, social mapping, cognitive coaching, sensory integration and problem-based learning.
• Plans and implements lessons addressing individual differences and learning styles.
• Supports and coordinates students’ therapeutic agenda with Leadership Team.
• Mentors/coaches students focusing on target skills and growth strategies.
• Participates in staff meetings and continuing professional education.
