Job summary

MediLodge of Gaylord in Gaylord, MI is seeking a part-time Dietary Cook to combine culinary skills with care for residents. You’ll prepare meals that meet dietary needs, follow food safety standards, and work with a team in a healthcare setting.

This role values attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to plan menus with regular and therapeutic options. Prior cooking experience in restaurants or food service is preferred, and ServSafe or equivalent certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques.
• Understanding of basic nutrition for residents.
• Experience in quantity food production and basic math.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
• Effective communication with residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Review menus before preparing food for regular and therapeutic diets.
• Prepare meals for residents, staff, and events per planned menu.
• Use standardized recipes and ensure proper portioning.
• Maintain sanitation and safety per policies and regulations.
• Provide alternative items to meet individual resident needs.
• Document changes to menus as required.
