Job summary

MediLodge of Gaylord is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare meals for residents and staff, ensuring safety and appetizing presentation.

The role requires attention to detail and knowledge of dietary needs for elderly residents, with the ability to follow standardized recipes and guidelines.

Previous cooking experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred, with ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred; part-time hours with flexible scheduling options.

Qualifications

• Six months’ experience in large quantity food preparation.
• Therapeutic diet preparation experience preferred.
• ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred, or other state certifications.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus prior to preparation of food.
• Prepares food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
• Prepares alternative items to meet residents’ individual needs and food preferences.
• Prepares and portions food using proper safety techniques and established procedures.
• Ensures food is served at appropriate temperature and attractive presentation.
• Maintains sanitary and organized work environment.
