Job summary

The Therapeutic Assistant I reports to the Nurse Manager and provides patient care under a multi-disciplinary treatment program. The role includes orienting new team members, leading group programming, and accurately recording vital signs and meal percentages in the electronic medical record.

Additionally, the incumbent will document applicable patient care, collaborate with registered nurses and the Nurse Manager, and attend 75% of unit staff meetings during orientation and ongoing employment.

Qualifications

• Behavioral health experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within 2 weeks of hire.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision and treatment program.
• Orient new care team members to the unit.
• Conduct and document group programming as directed.
• Obtain and document vital signs accurately.
• Record meal percentages in the chart.
• Document care in the electronic medical record.
