Job summary

The Therapeutic Assistant I at MUSC Health provides patient care under limited supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment program. You will orient new team members, conduct and document group programming, and capture vital signs and meal percentages in the EMR while supporting RN nurses and the Nurse Manager.

Attendance at 75% of unit staff meetings is also required. Behavioral health experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Behavioral health experience preferred.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 2 weeks of hire.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required.
• Certification in de-escalation training within orientation and annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care as directed by a multi-disciplinary treatment program.
• Orient new care team members.
• Conduct and document group programming.
• Obtain and document vital signs.
• Record meal percentages.
• Document patient care in the electronic medical record.
• Attend 75% of unit staff meetings.
