Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Therapeutic Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities include assisting with admission/discharge, ensuring safety, maintaining activities of daily living, and supporting the therapeutic program within a rotating shift schedule. BLS and First Aid certifications are required within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required for Therapeutic Assistant I.
• Therapeutic Assistant II requires Bachelor's in Human Services or closely related field, or HS diploma plus 1 year of behavioral health or related healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a registered nurse, provide patient care as directed by the multi-disciplinary treatment plan and daily assignment sheet.
• Assist with patient admission and discharge processes.
• Monitor and promote safety of the therapeutic environment and support activities of daily living.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Bachelor's degree in Human Services or closely related field, or high school diploma and 1 year of experience in behavioral health or related healthcare
