Job summary

Bartlett Park District is seeking a part-time Cultural Arts Coordinator to assist in running theatre and dance programs, plus teaching cultural arts classes. You will help plan, organize, promote, and manage day-to-day theatre and dance activities and events, working with the Recreation Manager and staff.

The role requires strong organizational and customer service skills, with evening/weekend availability. Prior theatre/dance experience and basic lighting/sound knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Prefer Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Masters in Theatre Arts or a related field.
• Experience in theatre or dance or combination of experience, education, and training required.
• A basic knowledge of lighting and sound preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of new visual & performing arts programs and teach independently.
• Assist with maintaining supplies and equipment in a safe and workable condition.
• Set-up/clean-up of the area at the beginning and after the class (program) is taught.
• Be creative with fun class ideas and lessons plans.
• Have good listening skills, pay attention to detail, be patient, and be flexible.
