Job summary

Naperville Park District is seeking a part-time Dance Instructor to teach classes from beginner to advanced levels under the supervision of the Dance Coordinator. The role involves planning curricula, preparing choreography, selecting music for recitals, and promoting a fun and disciplined learning environment.

You will communicate course information to students and parents, track attendance, and assist with dress rehearsals and performances while upholding park district policies and customer

Qualifications

• Five years of extensive dance training required.
• Professional performing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct dance classes at levels beginning through advanced.
• Set annual goals for students.
• Plan and instruct dance classes at progressive levels.
• Provide recommendations for curriculum enhancement to Dance Academy Coordinator and Program Manager.
• Prepare choreography and select music for recital pieces and/or story productions.
• Provide a fun, encouraging and disciplined atmosphere.
• Assist with dance studio set-up and functionality; such as, setting up/taking down chairs, organizing and moving dance equipment.
