Job summary

The New Group in New York City is seeking an Usher (Part-Time) to welcome audiences and support performers during a temporary fall season. Shifts run from early October to mid-December 2026, with training sessions before performances.

Responsibilities include greeting, seating, ticket scanning, program distribution, safety monitoring, and coverage for special events. Evening/weekend availability is required; work is on-site at the Theater at St. Clement's.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service skills and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Willingness to follow front of house procedures and safety rules.
• Experience in front of house roles is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaged customer service.
• Facilitate audience entry and egress.
• Scan tickets.
• Distribute programs.
• Greet and seat latecomers.
• Monitor the seating area for safety concerns.
• Provide on-site coverage for special events including talkbacks and open-captioned performances.
• Understand and follow The New Group's front of house policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
