Job summary

Union College in Schenectady, NY is seeking a Theater Box Office Work Study Assistant to operate the Box Office during performances, open and close for each production, answer phones, sell tickets, and handle cash using a card swipe and credit card machine.

You will assist with signage, update messages, support with script materials for faculty courses, and help with special projects; evening and weekend work is required and reliability matters.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and phone etiquette.
• Strong customer service skills and cash handling ability.
• Experience with ticketing or event software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operates the Box Office during Box Office hours and before each show.
• Responsible for opening and closing the Box Office for each production.
• Answers the phone, takes messages, and sells tickets.
• Uses Eventbrite, card swipe, credit card machine, and handles cash.
• Update Box Office phone message and create/distribute theater signage.
• Assist with special projects including typing, printing, copying, and research.
• Work some evenings and weekends; ushering or related duties on performance nights.
