Stony Brook University in New York seeks an Instructional Support Assistant to set up and operate AV equipment for events in meeting rooms, lecture halls, and the Wang Theater.
Responsibilities include assisting the Production Manager with audio, video, or lighting systems, maintaining equipment, providing job-specific training for student assistants, and supporting other duties as needed. Per Diem schedule; evening/weekend work may be required.
Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). In lieu of an Associate’s degree, two (2) years of directly related full-time experience or a combination of education and experience totaling two (2) years may be considered. One (1) year of directly related full-time experience in the field of audio visual and/or theatrical production.
Additional years (2+) of directly related full-time experience in the field of audio visual and/or theatrical production. Experience training other technicians. Experience with stage electrics, theatrical lighting design, audio systems for events, video and projection equipment, or stage management.
Incumbents will set up and operate audio-visual equipment including projectors, sound systems, video monitors, and theatrical lighting. In addition to providing assistance in the various meeting rooms and lecture halls, the audio-visual technicians will also support events in the Charles B. Wang Theater.
This is a part-time appointment. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
