Victoria College is seeking a part-time Testing Proctor to assist with online testing, college placement testing, and high-stakes testing in a quiet, secure environment. You will verify student IDs, support test security, and communicate with multiple college departments. Training for certifications will be provided.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel is highly desirable.
  • Willing to become certified for various high-stakes tests (training provided).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Windows, Blackboard, Internet, and e-mail at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Testing Department is recruiting for one part time Testing Proctor. This position assists with the administration of online testing, college placement testing, and specialized high-stakes testing. Also responsible for general office duties including filing, answering phones, and scheduling testing appointments. Schedule is an “on-call” basis and variable; some evening and Saturday hours may be required. Will also serve as a test proctor in the ACT Center administering high-stakes specialized testing

  1. Assists with the protection of secure, highly confidential and valuable documents by maintaining appointment sheets, sign in sheets, test inventory, and instructor passwords;
  2. Verifies students identification and seats them appropriately;
  3. Checks security breaches and takes proper action to report incident to supervisor;
  4. Clarifies testing procedures to candidates;
  5. Maintains testing times for various exams;
  6. Ability to complete needed forms and disseminate information to various college departments and/or testing companies;
  7. Collects all testing materials at end of testing session;
  8. Strong initiative to work independently;
  9. Must be able to work in a quiet environment, learn detailed procedures, and handle a reasonable amount of stress;
  10. Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office, Windows applications, Blackboard, Internet, and e-mail;
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Testing and the Dean of Student Services.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20-50 pounds while loading office supplies, paper and test packets. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
