Job summary

SUNY Sullivan Test Proctors are reliable, friendly, and detail-oriented individuals responsible for monitoring exams in the Testing Center, scheduling appointments, and proctoring both in-person and remote exams.

This part-time hourly role includes day, evening, and weekend shifts, supports exam data tracking, maintains testing security, and provides testing accommodations using accessibility software as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office, Windows, Internet, email, and minor troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently in a quiet environment, learn procedures, multitask, and prioritize.
  • Flexible schedule with weekend availability.

Responsibilities

  • Proctor all testing which may include GED, CLEP, TEAS, proficiency tests, make-up testing, certification exams, and exams for non-SUNY Sullivan students from other colleges.
  • Assist with the coordination of daily testing center activities, providing a safe, secure, customer-friendly, and professional testing environment
  • Maintain the Testing Center's test schedules and schedule appointments for testing
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the testing environment and materials
  • Follow all Test Proctor SOPs, including guiding test takers through the testing process, maintaining an attendance roster, monitoring testing environments (remote or in-person) and responding to student actions during exams via video/mirror/walkthroughs
  • Log and track exam data, generate utilization reports and data entry in tracking software
  • Be knowledgeable of SUNY Sullivan campus offices' functions and make referrals to testers
  • Provide testing accommodations for individuals with disabling conditions using accessibility software (Read & Write Gold, Kurzweil, Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Zoom Text)
  • Report equipment malfunctions to Helpdesk and supervisor
  • Attend meetings and workshops for professional development
  • Communicate exam issues and test-taker concerns to supervisor
  • Participate in yearly training
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Summary:

SUNY Sullivan Test Proctors are reliable, friendly, and detail-oriented individuals tasked with monitoring a variety of exams at the college's Testing Center. This position is responsible for scheduling appointments, monitoring testing environments, administering and proctoring in-person and remote exams, and assisting with tracking exam data. Test proctors are part-time employees and will be scheduled for day, evening, and weekend hours. This role reports to the Director of Workforce Development.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required, Associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suites, Windows applications, Internet, email, and troubleshooting minor computer issues
  • Ability to work independently in a quiet environment, learn detailed procedures, multitask, and prioritize

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Proctor all testing which may include: GED, CLEP, TEAS tests, proficiency tests, make-up testing, certification exams, and also exams for non-SUNY Sullivan students from other colleges
  • Assist with the coordination of daily testing center activities, providing a safe, secure, customer-friendly, and professional testing environment
  • Maintain the Testing Center's test schedules and schedule appointments for testing
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the testing environment and materials
  • Follow all Test Proctor standard operating procedures, including guiding test takers through the testing process, maintaining an attendance roster, monitoring the remote or in-person testing environment and respond to student actions during exams via video, mirror, or walkthroughs, ensuring the timely return of completed exams, fulfilling administrative post-test tasks, etc.
  • Log and track exam data for the testing center, including generating utilization reports and data entry in tracking software
  • Be knowledgeable of SUNY Sullivan campus offices' functions and make referrals to testers when needed
  • Provide testing accommodations for individuals with disabling conditions, utilizing accessibility software programs such as Read & Write Gold, Kurzweil, Dragon Naturally Speaking and Zoom Text
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the Helpdesk and supervisor
  • Attend meetings and workshops that enhance professional development
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding exam issues and test-taker concerns
  • Participate in yearly training such as certification to proctor certain exams and training required by the college
  • Other duties as assigned
Salary:
