Job summary

Oakland University in Rochester, MI, invites applications for aTesting Coordinator/Disability Coordinator to support Disability Support Services. The hybrid, full-time role focuses on coordinating accommodated testing and disability intake, with occasional evening exam proctoring.

Responsibilities include processing exam requests, coordinating faculty communication, data reporting, and educating the campus about disability needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Master’s Degree – Counseling, Licensed Professional Counselor ( LPC ), Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education or Social Work.
  • Strong technical and database skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate accommodated testing services (75%) and disability intake/admission assessments (25%).
  • Review and process exam appointment requests; communicate follow-up questions to students.
  • Manage faculty communications related to student exam appointments.
  • Facilitate administration and proctoring of exams for students registered with Disability Support Services, including weekly evening hours.
  • Oversee secure receipt, handling, storage, and return of exams to safeguard integrity of materials.
  • Assist the Director with data collection and reporting related to the testing process.
  • Design and present programs to educate and sensitize the OU community about the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Coordinate academic adjustments, reasonable accommodations, and other services for students with disabilities.
  • Evaluate disability documentation to determine eligibility for adjustments and services.
  • Consult with faculty and campus offices to facilitate disability-related services.
  • Explain University services, policy and procedures to students and parents during intake appointments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Previous experience in counseling/ advising students and/or testing administration, student support in the post-secondary environment.

Position Purpose

This hybrid role supports the mission of the Disability Support Services ( DSS ) office by coordinating accommodated testing services (75%) and performing disability intake and accommodation assessments (25%).
