Job summary

Venus Aerospace seeks a Senior Test Engineer to lead the design, development, commissioning, and operation of cutting-edge propulsion test facilities. You’ll own the complete test lifecycle from high-pressure fluid systems to automated test stands, driving safety, reliability, and performance improvements while mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to push the boundaries of aerospace propulsion in a fast-paced, hands-on environment in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and operate high-pressure propulsion test facilities from design through qualification.
• Own the complete test lifecycle: design, build, program, and analyze test stands and hazard analyses.
• Mentor engineers, collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, and drive safety, reliability, and performance improvements.
• Deliver test capabilities on schedule and improve test efficiency.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field

8+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years in engine testing or complex mechanical test systems

Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting high-pressure fluid systems, instrumentation, and DAQ

Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer

Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration

Mentoring junior engineers and technical leadership

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in PPE
