Job summary

Vast is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer to join our Mojave team. In this full-time exempt role, you will lead thruster development, acceptance and qualification hot-fire tests, and collaborate with engineers to meet fast‑paced test milestones.

You will work on hazardous operations, high‑pressure fluid systems, test stand modifications, and TRRs, supporting a mission to advance space propulsion technology for our Haven program and future modules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering required.
• Minimum 2 years in operation, design, or testing of propulsion or fluid systems.
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in Mojave heat.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform thruster development, acceptance and qualification hot-fire testing.
• Lead hazardous operations with high-pressure fluids.
• Write test procedures for hazardous operations.
• Prepare and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).
• Collaborate with engineers to modify test stands and meet test requirements.
• Maintain and modify test stand fluids and electrical systems.
