Job summary

WEG Electric Corp. (USA) seeks a Test Engineer to own test methods and plans for large electric motors, generators, and related equipment. You will interpret specifications, develop procedures, and verify product compliance while supporting continuous improvement on the Test Floor.

The role requires engineering troubleshooting, data analysis, and collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure testing aligns with customer requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical and mechanical foundation enabling expertise with large motors and generators.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and customer requirements.
• Knowledge of testing, controls, instrumentation, data acquisition, and test systems.
• Familiarity with NEMA, IEEE, API, ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans and strategies based on customer requirements, engineering specifications, applicable standards, and product characteristics.
• Determine test methods, resources, instrumentation, equipment, and technical requirements necessary to complete testing.
• Develop, validate, and maintain test procedures and acceptance criteria with engineering, quality, and customer requirements.
• Engineer interpretation and product verification: analyze data to determine compliance and provide conclusions and recommendations.
• Technical troubleshooting and support for Test Floor issues; drive root-cause analysis and cross-functional resolution.
• Research and implement advances in testing technology and data acquisition to improve capabilities.
