Job summary

WEG Electric Corp in Bluffton, IN seeks an Electrical Engineer to design, test and validate electric motors and gearmotors per customer specs. The role supports existing products in production, develops new test benches, and ensures compliance with UL/CSA/NEMA/IEEE/IEC standards in a laboratory setting.

You will perform lab testing, analyze results, and collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to improve efficiency and performance while supporting manufacturing, quality and sales

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 0–3 years of relevant engineering experience; internship or co-op in testing/validation is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with laboratory testing, instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design and test new electric motors and gearmotors to meet customer specifications.
• Provide technical support for existing products and customer applications.
• Evaluate existing motor designs to improve performance, quality, reliability and manufacturability.
• Plan, coordinate and execute electrical and mechanical testing of motors and related products.
• Independently perform laboratory testing to support schedules and workload.
• Analyze test results and provide engineering recommendations for improvements.
• Lead projects to improve engineering tools, testing methods and validation processes.
