Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 0–3 years of relevant engineering experience; internship or co‑op in testing/validation is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with laboratory testing, instrumentation, data acquisition systems and data analysis.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Continuous improvement mindset with focus on product quality.
• Proven experience coordinating technical projects.
• Physical ability to work in manufacturing and lab environments; occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design and test new electric motors and gearmotors to meet customer specifications.
• Provide technical support for existing products and customer applications.
• Evaluate existing motor designs to improve performance, quality, reliability and manufacturability.
• Plan, coordinate and execute electrical and mechanical testing of electric motors, gearmotors and related products.
• Independently perform laboratory testing as required to support project schedules and workload.
• Analyze test results and provide engineering recommendations for product improvements.
• Support product development through design verification, validation and certification testing.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, validation plans and laboratory documentation.
• Develop and improve test benches, fixtures, instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Collaborate with the Laboratory Technician to ensure efficient laboratory operation and testing execution.
• Follow industry standards (UL, CSA, NEMA, IEEE, IEC) to validate product compliance.
• Create and monitor laboratory KPIs to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Automate testing and reporting processes to improve laboratory efficiency.
• Work with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to improve motor efficiency and performance.
• Lead projects to improve engineering tools, testing methods and validation processes.
• Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Quality, Sales and other functions as needed.
• Perform hands-on motor and gearbox testing using established procedures.
