Job summary

WEG is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Bluffton, IN to design, test, and validate motors and gearmotors per customer specs. You will support existing products in production, improve designs, and develop new test benches and validation methods.

Responsibilities include running electrical and mechanical tests, analyzing results, and ensuring compliance with UL/CSA/NEMA/IEEE/IEC standards. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 0-3 years of relevant engineering experience; internship or co-op is a plus.
• Experience with laboratory testing, instrumentation, and data analysis.
• Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.
• Ability to work in manufacturing and lab environments; travel possible.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design and test new electric motors and gearmotors to meet specs.
• Provide technical support for existing products and customer applications.
• Evaluate motor designs to improve performance, quality and manufacturability.
• Plan and execute electrical and mechanical testing and validate results.
• Document test results and develop validation plans and procedures.
• Lead projects to improve testing methods and engineering tools.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality and sales teams as needed.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, NEMA, IEEE and IEC standards.
