North American Slate, the American subsidiary of a leading slate producer, is seeking a Territory Sales Representative for the Midwest region (IL/IN/MI/WI). The role combines prospecting, relationship building and deal closure across contractors, suppliers and architects.

We offer a base salary of 65,000 to 100,000 annually with bonus potential and a strong benefits package. Local candidates in the Midwest are preferred with up to 50% travel.

• Identifying and prospecting new customers to build lasting partnerships.
• Meeting contractors, suppliers, and architects and negotiating pricing and terms.
• Managing the entire sales life cycle from prospecting to close.
• Providing regular reporting to leadership on sales and project status.
• Forecasting and monitoring pipeline projects to hit sales targets.
• Managing leads in territory, sending information and samples, coordinating logistics.
• Estimating, quoting and analyzing costs to competitively sell slate products.
• Account management including lead generation, qualification, product presentation, negotiation, closing and post-sale support.

We are seeking a Sales Representative with drive, new ideas, creativity and foresight to help us shape the future of North American Slate.

Responsibilities:

• Identifying and prospecting new customers building relationships that create lasting partnerships.


• Meeting contractors, suppliers, and architects while effectively negotiating within the provided framework as it relates to pricing flexibility, acceptable contract terms and any potential concessions achieving sales objectives.


• Managing the entire sales life cycle from prospecting to deal close.


• Providing consistent reporting to leadership for current and future sales and project oversight.


• Accurately provide project sales forecasting and monitoring of pipeline projects to reach sales targets.


• Managing leads within assigned territory, sending information and samples, coordinating logistics.


• Estimating, quoting and analyzing costs to strategically sell offered slate products in a competitive market.


• Ongoing account management including lead generation, qualification, product presentation, negotiation, closing the sale and post-sale account management

What we are looking for:

Bachelor’s degree

Field of Study Preferred:Sales, Marketing, or a related field

Required Work Experience:Three years of business outside sales experience, preferably construction-related

Travel Requirements: 50%

• Proven sales experience preferably in a related field.

• A willingness and enjoyment of travelling and face to face contact as this role requires extensive travel that may exceed 50% of the time. Midwestern Region territory comprises the following states: Illinois (IL), Indiana (IN), Michigan (MI), and Wisconsin (WI). Local candidates in these states preferred. No relocation offered.

What we provide:

• $65,000 to $100,000 highly competitive base salary coupled with bonus remuneration based upon sales target achievement.
