Job summary

North American Slate, the American subsidiary of Rathscheck Schiefer, seeks a driven Sales Representative to identify and cultivate new customers within the Southeast region. You will negotiate terms with contractors, suppliers, and architects and manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting to close.

Travel up to 50% is required; a Bachelor’s degree in Sales/Marketing or related field and at least three years of outside sales experience (construction preferred) are essential.

Qualifications

• Three years of outside sales experience, preferably construction-related.
• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or a related field.
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prospect new customers, building relationships that lead to lasting partnerships.
• Meet contractors, suppliers, and architects; negotiate pricing, terms and concessions to achieve sales objectives.
• Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to deal closure.
• Provide consistent reporting to leadership on current and future sales and project oversight.
• Forecast and monitor pipeline projects to reach sales targets.
• Manage leads within territory, share information and samples, coordinate logistics.
• Estimate, quote and analyze costs to strategically sell slate products in a competitive market.
• Maintain ongoing account management including lead generation, qualification, product presentation, negotiation, closing and post-sale.

We are seeking a Sales Representative with drive, new ideas, creativity and foresight to help us shape the future of North American Slate.

Responsibilities:

• Identifying and prospecting new customers building relationships that create lasting partnerships.
• Meeting contractors, suppliers, and architects while effectively negotiating within the provided framework as it relates to pricing flexibility, acceptable contract terms and any potential concessions achieving sales objectives.
• Managing the entire sales life cycle from prospecting to deal close.
• Providing consistent reporting to leadership for current and future sales and project oversight.
• Accurately provide project sales forecasting and monitoring of pipeline projects to reach sales targets.
• Managing leads within assigned territory, sending information and samples, coordinating logistics.
• Estimating, quoting and analyzing costs to strategically sell offered slate products in a competitive market.
• Ongoing account management including lead generation, qualification, product presentation, negotiation, closing the sale and post-sale account management.

What we are looking for:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree
• Field of Study Preferred: Sales, Marketing, or a related field
• Required Work Experience: Three years of business outside sales experience, preferably construction-related

No re-location offered.

What we provide:

• $65,000 to $100,000 highly competitive base salary coupled with bonus remuneration based upon sales target achievement.
