Job summary

Mitutoyo America Corporation is seeking a motivated Sales Representative to promote precision measurement products to distributors and end users within an assigned territory in North America.

The role focuses on developing distributor and end-user relationships, prospecting for new business, conducting product demonstrations, and communicating market trends to Mitutoyo teams. A background in manufacturing, machine tools, or metrology is preferred, with travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Approximately five years of relevant sales experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight travel.
• Proven track record of success in sales.
• Experience or interest in manufacturing, machine tools, or metrology.

Responsibilities

• Travel throughout the assigned territory up to 75% travel, including overnight stays.
• Develop distributors within the territory and assign distributor sales quotas.
• Make sales calls to distributors to promote products and review inventories.
• Make calls to end users to promote Mitutoyo products and solutions.
• Develop target accounts and identify opportunities for product lines.
• Prospect for and develop new customer accounts.
• Perform product demonstrations and provide instruction within the territory.
• Maintain CRM with customer and sales activity information.
• Prepare and submit sales and activity reports in a timely manner.
• Participate in Mitutoyo America and distributor trade shows and events.
