Job summary

Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG) is seeking an experienced sales professional to grow a defined territory. You will promote, sell, and secure orders from existing and new customers through a relationship-based approach, while maximizing sales profitability and overall customer value.

Responsibilities include in-person visits, order management with internal teams, and timely responses to customer needs. Strong meat/seafood knowledge and a proactive, self-motivated attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Preferred: 4-year degree in culinary arts, business, marketing, agriculture/animal science or related studies.
• Two years of food service or sales experience preferred.
• Strong meat/seafood knowledge and consultative selling skills.
• Proficient in MS Outlook and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish, develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers to generate new business.
• Make in-person visits and presentations to customers.
• Take orders with SSMG goals in mind: sales and gross profit optimization.
• Coordinate order input with inside sales partners.
• Respond promptly to customer problems and needs.
• Review stock levels and transportation issues; implement swift solutions.
• Analyze daily/weekly sales and margin reports for improvement opportunities.
• Stay informed on products, market conditions, and competitors.
• Attend SSMG trainings and customer events; participate in sales meetings.
• Develop relationships with accounts payable and coordinate with AR.
• Support pricing accuracy and item availability in bids.
• Keep customer profiles and bid files up to date.
