Job summary

Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG) seeks a results-driven sales professional to grow the assigned territory by promoting SSMG products and services. You will build relationships with current and prospective customers and present solutions tailored to their needs.

You will manage orders, optimize sales and gross profit, and collaborate with inside sales to ensure accurate pricing and timely order processing. A strong emphasis on problem solving and market awareness is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• 4-year degree in culinary arts, business, marketing, agriculture/animal science or related studies preferred.
• 2-year prior food service and/or sales background strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business for Sysco Specialty Meat Group's products and services.
• Make in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
• Take customer orders with SSMG goals in mind: sales and GP/Stop maximization.
• Coordinate with inside sales to input orders and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Address customer problems and needs in a timely manner.
• Review stock levels and transport issues to implement quick solutions.
• Analyze daily/weekly sales and margin reports for improvement opportunities.
• Stay informed about product applications, market conditions, and competitive activity.
• Participate in SSMG training and customer events; attend sales meetings.
• Develop relationships with accounts payable contacts and coordinate with A/R managers.
• Apply cash-on-delivery and early payment strategies as needed.
• Keep bid files and customer profiles updated to reduce credits and returns.
