Job summary

Sysco Specialty Meat Group (SSMG) is seeking a sales professional to execute a defined territory sales plan, maximize profitability and grow share with current and new customers. You will promote, present, and secure orders by applying a relationship-based approach and by aligning product solutions to customer needs.

Responsibilities include in-person visits, coordinating orders with inside sales, and monitoring stock and transportation issues to ensure timely delivery and high customer

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma; a four-year degree is preferred in culinary arts, business, marketing, agriculture/animal science or related studies.
• 2 years of food service sales experience preferred; COP (Center of the Plate) experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business.
• Make in-person visits and presentations to customers.
• Take customer orders with sales and margin goals in mind.
• Coordinate with inside sales for order input and pricing accuracy.
• Monitor stock, transportation issues and respond quickly to problems.
• Analyze daily/weekly sales and margin reports for improvement opportunities.
• Keep up to date on product applications, market conditions and competitors.
• Participate in training and customer events and in sales meetings.
