Job summary

Homans Associates in Warwick, RI is seeking a motivated Territory Manager to grow sales across the local HVAC market. You will call on regular and prospective customers, present products, negotiate terms, and help meet regional budgets.

The role involves travel within the territory, trade shows participation, and building strong relationships with purchasing contacts. Relocation not offered.

Responsibilities

• Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
• Display or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
• Negotiate pricing based on what the market will bear while maintaining profit goals of the company.
• Achieve or exceed territory sales budget as well as contributing additional sales to help achieve overall regional sales budgets.
• Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's delivery schedules.
• Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.
• Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
• Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts along with providing information to help set usage levels.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries and products.
• Attend trade shows.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
