Job summary

Homans Associates is seeking a highly motivated Territory Manager to support our Edison, NJ branch. This role involves building and managing a customer base across the territory, coordinating sales efforts, and representing our Mitsubishi and Bryant HVAC brands.

The incumbent will travel within the territory to meet customers, negotiate terms, and maintain relationships while meeting or exceeding sales budgets. Relocation is not offered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on various sources.
• Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
• Display or demonstrate product using samples or catalog and emphasize salable features.
• Negotiate pricing while maintaining profit goals of the company.
• Achieve or exceed territory sales budget and contribute to regional budgets.
• Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimate delivery dates based on knowledge of firm delivery schedules.
• Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.
• Enter new customer data into computer database and maintain records.
• Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts and provide usage information.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries and products.
• Attend trade shows.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
• Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
• Display or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
• Negotiate pricing based on what the market will bear while maintaining profit goals of the company.
• Achieve or exceed territory sales budget as well as contributing additional sales to help achieve overall regional sales budgets.
• Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's delivery schedules.
• Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.
• Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
• Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts along with providing information to help set usage levels.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries and products.
• Attend trade shows.
• Other duties as assigned.
