Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Full-time Account Specialist at our Manassas, VA location. The role focuses on growing and supporting branch key accounts by building relationships and aligning products to customer needs.

You will develop local sales plans, manage a book of business, and work with key accounts to achieve goals while upholding the company core values of ambition, integrity, and teamwork. The position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• The following skills and qualifications are required for this position.
• 18 years of age or older
• Possess a current full valid driver's license in the location, and the ability to meet driving record requirements
• Possess or are working towards a degree in Business/Marketing OR have related industry experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
• Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
• Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Able to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages weighing 25lbs-50lbs up to 75lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam)
• Pass a background check as required

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing a sales plan in a local territory to reach and exceed sales goals
• Supporting the day-to-day needs of the branch's key accounts
• Working directly with key accounts
• Growing and maintaining an assigned book of business
• Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success
