EAB (Education Advisory Board) is seeking a Senior Director, Terrain Lead for Research Advisory Services in higher education advancement and strategy. The role will be based in Washington, DC, with strong travel and remote-work options across the continental United States.

The position emphasizes building strategic guidance, stakeholder engagement with senior university leaders, and delivering insights through multiple delivery channels while leading a team and ensuring client success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-10 years of post-graduate professional experience in higher education, research, or management consulting.
• Experience working with Chief Advancement Officers, Corporate Foundation Relations leaders, or Strategy leads at a college, university, or similarly positioned enterprise.
• In-depth understanding of education industry and the role of senior institution leadership in setting strategy and decision making in transformation; advancement and fundraising strategy; campaign readiness and execution; donor and alumni engagement.
• Superior verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to create a compelling narrative through data visualization, graphics, and slides.
• Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills: ability to build relationships with, engage and challenge senior-level executives.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain issue expertise in the Advancement terrain and across research terrains; deliver strategy for transformation, fundraising, and donor engagement.
• Engage senior institutional leaders and cabinet teams to guide decisions and share EAB insights.
• Deliver EAB’s perspective through consultations, meetings, conferences, and on-campus presentations to inform and influence client decisions.
• Diagnose client problems, challenge assumptions, and suggest solutions; present ideas and advocate adoption.
• Lead research collaboration and generate original insights to inform future EAB deliverables.
• Manage and motivate a team of RAS staff; onboard and develop new staff; assess performance and provide feedback.
