Job summary

Benihana - Scottsdale is seeking a professional hibachi chef/cook to prepare and plate meals at the teppan tables while entertaining guests. You will ensure proper portions, maintain cleanliness, and provide a memorable dining experience.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of the Benihana chef training program, with prior chef or cook experience considered desirable. This position is typically full-time and based in-house at our Scottsdale location.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Must pass Benihana chef training program.
• Prior chef or cook experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order.
• Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction is appropriate and courteous.
• Reads guests for information about Benihana foods while cooking.
• Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests.
• Asks guests for cooking preference and follows instructions.
• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables for cooking using kitchen equipment.
• Performs shift opening and closing duties as assigned by the manager.
• Maintains kitchen, teppan areas, and reports maintenance issues.
• Follows Company guidelines on portions, recipes, and presentation.
• Handles and rotates foods per FIFO and safety guidelines.
• Uses knives and utensils to portion and prepare foods.
• Presents a clean appearance and courteous service to guests.
• Notifies MOD if guests are not satisfied or if an accident occurs.
• May photograph guests for special occasions upon request.
