Job summary

Massachusetts Bay Community College seeks a qualified full-time faculty member to educate the next generation of Emergency Medical Sciences professionals. The role includes teaching EMT and Paramedicine courses in classroom, lab, and simulation settings, with potential online delivery.

The ideal candidate will have OEMS/NREMT credentials, a commitment to diversity, and the ability to collaborate with a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Current, active MA and/or NREMT Paramedic certification without restriction/in good standing.
• Associate degree from an accredited college or university, or comparable years of experience, with commitment to complete a bachelor’s degree within two years of hire.
• Current AHA, BLS and ACLS certification.
• If only NREMT Paramedic, Massachusetts Paramedic credential within 30 days of hire.
• Within one year, obtain instructor credentials relevant to the position (e.g., ACLS/BLS/PALS Instructor).

Responsibilities

• Teach EMT and Paramedicine courses in classroom, skills lab, and simulation lab; may include online delivery.
• Prepare syllabi and curricula; align with program outcomes and accreditation requirements.
• Serve as academic advisor; maintain office hours; participate in governance and assessment activities.
• Maintain safe environment during skills training and evaluation; use technology to support learning.
• Engage in professional development and complete necessary paperwork for program compliance.
