• Any associate degree (from an accredited college or university) or equivalent experience and plan to complete an associate degree within 3 years of hire.
• Current AHA, BLS and ACLS certification.
• Current AHA BLS Instructor credential if teaching EMTs.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Adjunct instructors are responsible for developingeducational and evaluation materials consistent with the philosophy andframework of the program, MassBay Community College and (as applicable,accreditation, licensure, and specialty requirements) in accordance with the MAOffice of Emergency Medical Services and CoAEMSP. The part-time instructor isresponsible for maintaining a current OEMS or NREMT license/certification andexpertise in emergency medical services.

Thisinstructor adheres to faculty responsibilities in accordance with regulationsset forth by the MA OEMS (Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services)and, standards set forth by CoAEMSP (Committee on Accreditation of EmergencyMedical Service Providers).

This candidate must exhibit an appreciation of, andsensitivity to, and respect for a rich and diverse academic environment,inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying backgrounds, and those with differingabilities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• TeachEMT and Paramedicine Programs to include classroom, clinical, laboratorycourses, and simulation-based courses;
• Prepare syllabi and developcurricula for lectures, laboratory, and simulation settings to addresscourse and program student learning outcomes and Graduation;
• Teacheffectively in a traditional or hybrid environment;
• Serve as an advisor to students, asneeded;
• Participate in College, Division and Program meetings, as needed;
• Participate inassessment of course and program learning outcomes;
• Maintain a safe environment during skills training and evaluation sessions;
• Participate in and support the accreditation efforts of EMS;
• Use technology effectively to communicatewith students and colleagues and to enhance classroom learning asappropriate;
• Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by theprogram and accreditation agencies;
• Carry outother related duties as assigned by the Dean/Assistant Dean consistent with theCollective Bargaining Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

• Current, active MA and/or NREMT Paramedic certification without restriction/in good standing;
• Youmust obtain your Massachusetts paramedic license within 30 days of hire ifyou only hold NREMT certification;
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last ten years, as a Paramedic functioning on an emergency response ambulance providing EMS care;
• Any associate degree (from an accredited college or university) or comparable years of experience and a commitment to complete an associate degree from an accredited college or university within 3 years of hire;
• Current AHA, BLS and ACLS certification;
• Current AHA BLS Instructor credential if teaching EMT’s.

• Current Massachusetts EMS Instructor/Coordinator credential;
• Current NRP provider and instructor credential;
• Demonstrated strength in teaching introductory and advanced EMT and paramedic skills;
• Must be current in all areas of prehospital care and operations for instructing students in didactic, laboratory, and clinical settings.

Salary Range: $1,512.00 - 1,715.00 DCE Per Credit or $56.60 hourly
