Job summary

MassBay Community College in Framingham, MA, invites applications for an Assistant Professor, Emergency Medical Services (Tenure Track), with an evening schedule from 2:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The successful candidate will teach EMT and Paramedicine courses, supervise labs and simulations, and contribute to online learning as needed. The role requires current OEMS/NREMT certification, an associate degree (bachelor's degree within two years), and instructor credentials.

Qualifications

• Current, active MA and/or NREMT Paramedic certification.
• Associate degree or comparable years of experience with commitment to complete a bachelor’s degree within two years of hire.
• Current AHA, BLS and ACLS certification.
• If only NREMT Paramedic, must obtain Massachusetts Paramedic within 30 days of hire.
• Within one year, obtain all necessary instructor credentials relevant to the position.
• These may include Instructor/Coordinator; ACLS/BLS/PALS Instructor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a full-time workload, including teaching EMT and Paramedicine courses.
• Prepare syllabi and develop curricula for lectures, labs, and simulations.
• Teach effectively in traditional, hybrid, and online environments.
• Serve as an academic advisor to students and maintain office hours.
• Participate in college, division, and program governance and committee meetings.
• Participate in assessment of course and program learning outcomes.
• Maintain a safe environment during skills training and evaluation sessions.
• Use technology to communicate with students and colleagues and enhance learning.
• Engage in professional development to maintain excellence in teaching.
• Maintain required paperwork and documentation for the program and accreditation agencies.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Dean.

Education

MA Paramedic certification

NREMT Paramedic certification

Associate degree

Bachelor's degree in progress or to be completed within two years

AHA/BLS/ACLS certification

Instructor credentials within 30 days (if only NREMT Paramedic)

Instructor/Coordinator and ACLS/BLS/PALS Instructor credentials
