Job summary

CT State Community College seeks an Instructor to teach 30 credit hours per academic year across Anatomy and Physiology, Human Biology, and related disciplines. Courses may be offered in lecture, hybrid, and online formats, with day and evening schedules.

Under the Dean or Department Chair, the successful candidate will develop syllabi, support student success, participate in program reviews, and contribute to accreditation activities. A Master’s degree is required; Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• One (1) or more years’ teaching-related college-level courses (24+ credits).
• Experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology, Human Biology, and/or Cell Biology with a human emphasis, each with in-person laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year across assigned discipline.
• Develop syllabi and reading lists; keep courses complete and up to date.
• Respond to students, peers, and external partners; participate in program reviews and accreditation activities.
• Attend workshops, trainings, and/or professional conferences to maintain currency in the field.
• Attend convocation, commencements, committees, and meetings, including evenings/weekends.
