Job summary

City of Seattle seeks two temporary Upward Bound Tutors to mentor and tutor 9th–12th grade students at Garfield and Rainier Beach High Schools. The role supports academic pathways, leadership development, and college/career readiness.

Positions last through the 2026-2027 academic year with potential summer continuation. Schedule is four days a week in person; pay is hourly with premium pay in lieu of benefits.

Qualifications

• Provide one-to-one or small group tutoring in Math, Sciences, English as part of Upward Bound.
• Support leadership development, college and career readiness through workshops.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring and workshop activities.

Responsibilities

• Tutoring 9th–12th graders, individually or in groups, remotely or in person.
• Develop and conduct workshops on college readiness and life skills.
• Document tutoring activities and outcomes for program reporting.
