Job summary

The Evergreen State College is seeking an Educational Advisor for the Upward Bound program at Shelton High School. The role includes advising a caseload of students, coordinating after-school activities, and promoting college readiness while engaging with schools and community partners.

This full-time project position requires evening/weekend commitment and travel between sites; benefits are included, and federal funding supports the program through August 31, 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, or related field.
• One year of experience advising, counseling, or teaching disadvantaged/less-represented students.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and enroll eligible participants and verify eligibility.
• Advise students on academic success strategies, college admissions, financial aid, and career planning.
• Monitor 12th-grade participants to support college enrollment and persistence.
• Travel between work sites and coordinate after-school program activities.
• Assist in data collection, reporting, and compliance documentation.
