The Heights Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced and motivated RN or LPN to serve as a Temporary Unit Manager and provide leadership and clinical oversight to one of our nursing units.
This is a temporary leadership assignment ideal for a strong nurse who is organized, dependable, clinically confident, and comfortable supporting staff in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment. The Temporary Unit Manager will work closely with the Director of Nursing and facility leadership to ensure residents receive high-quality care and that the unit remains organized, compliant, and well-supported.
Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and oversight of the assigned nursing unit
Supervise and support nurses and STNAs on the unit
Monitor resident conditions and ensure changes are appropriately communicated and addressed
Review documentation and ensure nursing services are provided in accordance with care plans
Participate in resident care planning and interdisciplinary team communication
Assist with admissions, discharges, transfers, and changes in condition
Follow up on physician orders, labs, treatments, and other clinical needs
Monitor completion of required documentation and clinical tasks
Support infection prevention, fall prevention, wound care, and other quality initiatives
Assist with staffing coordination and provide hands-on support to the nursing team when needed
Promote positive communication with residents, families, physicians, and staff
Help maintain compliance with facility policies and applicable state and federal regulations
Participate in audits, quality assurance efforts, and survey readiness
Work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing and other department leaders to identify and resolve concerns
Current Ohio RN or LPN license in good standing
Previous skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation experience strongly preferred
Previous supervisory, charge nurse, or Unit Manager experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment and organizational skills
Knowledge of nursing home regulations and standards of care
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and effectively manage a busy nursing unit
Dependable, professional, and willing to be hands-on in supporting the team
