Job summary

John Scott House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Braintree, MA, is seeking a Unit Manager (RN/LPN) to lead our short-term unit. This role combines leadership with hands-on resident care in a 5-Star skilled nursing setting, mentoring staff while maintaining direct clinical involvement.

The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, and participate in admissions and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Must hold Massachusetts RN or LPN license in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily clinical operations of a long-term care unit.
• Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
• Complete resident assessments and oversee care planning.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Assist with admissions and clinical problem-solving.
• Provide direct resident care as needed, including occasional medication administration and taking a medication cart to support the team during staffing needs or busy periods.
