Job summary

Loyola University Chicago seeks a Temporary HR Manager to provide comprehensive HR support to assigned academic and administrative units, focusing on employee relations, change management, and talent acquisition during the ERP implementation through July 1, 2027. The role reports to the Temporary HR Director and is based on‑site in Chicago.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
• 5–7 years of progressive HR experience.
• PHR/SPHR certification preferred but not required.
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit, and/or unionized environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative HR leadership in employee relations, organizational effectiveness, change management, performance management, and workforce planning.
• Manage employee relations matters directly, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement processes.
• Guidance to managers and HR staff on conflict resolution, coaching, and problem solving strategies.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on federal and state employment laws and University policies.
• Collaborate with HR leadership on organizational development and strategic initiatives.
