Loyola University Chicago is seeking a temporary HR Director (ERP Temp) to provide executive and operational leadership for Human Resources programs during the university’s ERP implementation. The role is full-time, exempt, and fully in‑person, with a temporary tenure effective through July 1, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and workforce analysis to support institutional goals.
- Provide senior‑level counsel to university leaders on HR programs and initiatives.
- Represent Human Resources on university‑wide committees, task forces, and governance bodies.
- Oversee employee relations, investigations, grievance resolution, and conflict management for all staff.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university employment laws and regulations.
- Manage talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention initiatives, and oversee the Talent Acquisition Operations and Onboarding team.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, processes, and procedures, including full‑cycle ADA claim management.
- Oversee HR analytics, reporting, and performance measurement to guide decision‑making.
- Lead special HR projects and institutional initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with faculty, staff, administrators, and senior leaders, gathering and responding to feedback.
- Mentor and develop HR managers, generalists, specialists, and support staff, establishing clear performance expectations.
- Practice strategic and systems thinking, advanced conflict resolution, executive communication, stakeholder engagement, change management, data‑driven leadership, institutional stewardship, and ethical decision‑making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing professional staff and teams.
- Deep expertise in employee relations, investigations, organizational development, labor relations, staffing, workforce planning, HR analytics, compensation, and policy administration.
- Proven experience implementing strategic initiatives and managing complex projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and university employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated judgment, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Executive presence and ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
- Strong service orientation and relationship‑building skills.
- Capacity to work independently in a fast‑paced, complex environment while managing confidential information with discretion.
- Experience in higher education, public sector, and/or unionized environments preferred.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to serve as a subject‑matter expert on full‑cycle ADA claim management.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing professional staff and teams.
Certifications / Credentials
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in HR information systems and applicant tracking systems (e.g., PeopleAdmin), ERP platforms, Microsoft Office applications, data reporting tools, collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom), and HR analytics systems.
Salary
Range: $106,826 to $150,790 per annum.
