Job summary

Northwestern University is seeking a part-time SPICE Lab Program Assistant to help run a fast-moving research lab in Evanston, supporting data collection, travel logistics, purchasing, and day-to-day operations.

The role involves coordinating participant recruitment and scheduling, IRB paperwork, and reimbursements, while maintaining the lab calendar and vendor relations. Onboarding new students/staff is also part of the role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in lab management, research coordination, or office administration.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Experience with IRB processes is a plus.

Temporary Job Description:

We are hiring an organized program assistant to keep a fast-moving research lab at Northwestern University running smoothly, from human-subjects studies to travel, purchasing, and day-to-day operations.

• Support data collection studies: participant recruitment and scheduling, IRB paperwork, consent, and participant payments


• Book travel, rooms, and meetings; build itineraries; maintain the lab calendar and deadlines


• Handle purchasing, reimbursements, and expense documentation


• Track equipment, inventory, and supplies; manage vendor relationships


• Onboard new students and staff

Minimum Qualifications:

In addition to salary, this temporary position is eligible for paid time off and paid sick time in accordance with Northwestern University policies. This position is not eligible for other benefits offered to regular staff positions
