Job summary

The City of Battle Ground is hiring two full-time, temporary maintenance workers for a 4 to 4 ½ month period in Vancouver, WA. Under supervision, you will support storm drainage system maintenance, operate equipment, and help ensure safety in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities include operating tractors and mowers, maintaining rights-of-way, assisting with pavement repairs, and responding to public inquiries while keeping daily logs.

Qualifications

• General safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to operate and maintain hand and power tools used in maintenance.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate maintenance equipment and power tools.
• Maintain swales and ditches for proper system operation.
• Mow, trim, edge, and clean rights-of-way and easements.
• Assist with pothole repair and pavement sealing.
• Perform vegetation control in public areas.
• Respond to public inquiries courteously and document work.
