Job description

ATS Scientific Products is seeking a Temporary Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO), which provides high-quality project management execution of a portfolio of projects supporting SP’s strategic goals.

This position is onsite in Warminster, PA, and may require travel to client locations.

What you will do:
  1. Manage a selection of the more strategically important projects in the PMO portfolio to ensure the project goals and objectives are met and stakeholders are satisfied.
  2. Lead initiatives to implement project management best practices within SP, strengthening the PMO.
  3. Mentor and train project managers and project coordinators.

The PMO’s portfolio primarily includes production projects for engineering, fabrication, assembly, and testing of food, drug, and chemical batch process capital equipment and sub-systems within the company's domestic manufacturing facilities and at specific global job sites.

Additional high-profile projects include:
  1. R&D projects supporting or expanding SP’s product portfolio.
  2. Strategic projects focused on cultural, process, or business transformation.
  3. IT projects involving new or improved technology infrastructure, systems, or applications.
  4. CAPEX projects involving investments in facilities, machinery, or non-IT infrastructure.

This position reports to the Manager of the PMO and requires the ability to succeed in a matrix organization where team members report to their functional managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver a portion of the PMO’s overall portfolio successfully.
  2. Travel up to 30% to SP facilities, vendors, or customer sites, possibly internationally.
  3. Track and report key project information.
  4. Serve as the main point of contact for project stakeholders, including customers and end-users.
  5. Collaborate with departments such as sales, portfolio management, engineering, manufacturing, and management.
Health, Safety, and Environment Responsibilities:
  • Work in compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions or acts and defects in equipment or safety devices.
  • Use required protective equipment and attend safety training.
  • Report accidents or incidents and assist in investigations.
  • Maintain safe conduct and refrain from unsafe activities.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Education and Experience

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree or five to ten years of related technical, engineering, or science experience, or an equivalent combination.

  • Five years of project management experience involving manufacturing, R&D, strategic, IT, or CAPEX projects.
  • Experience with field installations, commissioning, and working directly with end-users and contractors.
  • Experience presenting to and interacting with executive management and implementing process improvements.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences industries, including lyophilization, fill-finish, FDA validation, GDP, GAMP, and machine controls, is a plus but not required.
Project Management Skills
  • Ability to prepare project schedules and maintain cost reports.
  • Define project scope clearly, manage changes, and minimize scope creep.
  • Work efficiently, manage time effectively, and break down projects into manageable parts.
  • Quickly learn new subjects, manage stress, and negotiate effectively.
